About Boro Skoric

Boro “Bob” Skoric has spent nearly 40 years helping people reconnect with the world through sound. As an audioprosthologist and board-certified in hearing instrument sciences, Bob consistently melds competent professionalism with genuine personal passion.

His “employment” in the hearing industry was never a job per se; it was a mission. Today, he’s president and founder of Beltone-Skoric Hearing Aid Center, which has 37 locations throughout northern Michigan. But at the core, his mission has remained the same — helping people hear, feel, and live more fully.

From the Stage to the Clinic

Boro was born in Eastern Europe and now resides in West Palm Beach, Florida. But he started his journey in a different, though very much related industry: music. He spent 30 years playing Serbian folk and Balkan music with the best musicians in the area and abroad.

Music has been Boro’s lifelong passion since childhood in the village of Donji Stepci. Following in the footsteps of his father and uncles, who played guitars, he began with the guitar at age eight before discovering his true calling—the accordion—under the guidance of respected teacher Novica Negovanovic. His talent and dedication earned him the prestigious “First Accordion of North America and Canada” title in 1985.

When not working with hearing aid patients, Boro cherishes time in his home studio recording acoustic music that “caresses the soul,” while being an exemplary husband and father who maintains his Serbian musical heritage.

This early experience with music allowed him to appreciate sound for what it really is beyond science—deeply human. Boro would later venture into a career in the hearing care field. He dedicated himself to helping others hear again, specifically those who had silently retreated into a world of none.

What Is an Audioprosthologist?

While “audioprosthologist” may not be a household term, the work is vital. Much like an audiologist, an audioprosthologist is a highly skilled professional who provides services and testing for hearing aids and hearing loss.

Audioprosthologists aren’t doctors but are specialized hearing healthcare professionals focused on addressing and managing hearing impairments. Bob is board-certified in hearing instrument sciences and can assess hearing problems, dispense and fit hearing aids, and help patients with what can be an emotional and transformative journey.

Boro is an ACA (audioprosthologist certified in audioprosthology) and is nationally board-certified in hearing instrument sciences. He is a member of the International Hearing Society, where, for 2 years, he was Vice President of the Michigan Alliance of Hearing Care Professionals.

Changing Lives, One Patient at a Time

So far, Bob Skoric has helped more than 20,000 people improve their hearing—and, by extension, their quality of life. According to Boro, hearing loss doesn’t just affect someone’s ability to follow conversations. It impacts their relationships, job performance, mental health, and physical safety.

It’s even worrying that most people wait years before seeking help for their hearing loss. Some are in denial, while others don’t think their hearing loss affects their quality of life, among all the safety and health risks involved.

That’s why he is so passionate about educating his patients, aside from treating their hearing loss. He raises awareness about the consequences of untreated hearing loss—including the simple and often life-changing solutions available. Whether through a one-on-one consultation or a community outreach event, his goal is always the same: Boro wants you to know that better hearing is within your reach.

Hearing Aids: A Modern Solution to an Age-Old Problem

One of Boro’s missions is to try to normalize hearing aids. For some people, wearing a device can still seem like a symbol of old age or weakness, but the truth could not be further from that perception.

Modern hearing aids are tiny machines that pack an incredible punch. They’re available in many different styles, some so small they’re nearly invisible. They often come with bells and whistles like Bluetooth streaming, rechargeable batteries, and automatic sound adjustments.

Boro and his team do everything possible to find the best device for each patient. They work with them from the initial hearing test to ongoing adjustments and support. For Boro and the team, it’s much more than just selling a product—it’s about restoring confidence and connection.

Building a Trusted Network of Care

Boro’s expansion from three Beltone clinics to 37 didn’t occur overnight. The growth was founded on trust—earned patient by patient over years of consistent care and community involvement. His clinics were built on the reputation of well-trained, friendly staff who always put their patients first.

While Boro runs a large network, he’s still very hands-on. His leadership is rooted in experience, and his team reflects the values he brings to every aspect of his work: honesty, compassion, and a patient-first approach.

Giving Back Through Education and Advocacy

Boro’s work goes beyond his clinics. He has a passion for community education and hosts and attends public discussions to educate the public on the impact of hearing loss. As a former VP of the Michigan Alliance of Hearing Care Professionals, Boro has also shaped policies that support both patients and practitioners.

Boro keeps leading the way—not in titles or spotlights but by simply showing up each day to make an impact on someone’s life.

Where Passion Meets Purpose

Bob Skoric’s story isn’t just about business success or professional accolades—it’s about purpose. Whether it’s the rhythm of Balkan music or the sound of a hearing aid fitting, his life has always been propelled by sound. Through that, he’s brought clarity and connection to thousands who want to hear again.

Even with 37 clinics strong, an incredible team by his side, and a legacy of over 20,000 lives changed, Boro is still on a mission to advance hearing care. He wants to break the stigma and ensure no one faces hearing loss alone.

For him, the work is far from over— and every single patient is a reminder of why he ever began in the first place.
